At the Motorsport Show 2025 on the Vienna River Side last Saturday (March 8), the Austrian GT3 team presented its Audi R8 LMS evo II and its driver lineup for the 2025 season. Anyone expecting a new design at the rollout was left disappointed. The Audi R8 LMS evo II will remain almost unchanged in 2025. No surprise – after all, in 2024, the Audi community voted the Eastalent Racing Audi as the best-designed Audi vehicle of the year.
There were also no changes in the driver lineup. „I am very happy that we managed to secure Christopher Haase for our team after his time as an Audi Sport driver. I am confident that Eastalent Racing will continue to develop in great strides with him,“ said team owner Peter Reicher.
With that, the direction for Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher is clear: Winning the Triple in the International GT Open is the goal for 2025.
When asked whether aiming for the Triple would be an immense challenge, Peter Reicher responded: „I don’t see it that way. I have full confidence in my team and my drivers. Personally, I have made it my mission to ensure the car is in perfect condition. We have the same top engineers from 2024 back on board – the rest is my financial responsibility. I want to win another championship, make history in the GT Open, and at the same time, position myself for a potential manufacturer switch in 2026.“
Both drivers were impressed. Simon Reicher and Christopher Haase pointed to their many successful races over the past two years and can’t wait to take on the challenge of winning the Triple.
The 2025 International GT Open season opener will once again take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal – from April 25 to 27.

Der 25-jährige Simon Reicher ist im Motorsport kein Unbekannter. Seine Karriere begann im Alter von 8 Jahren. Klassisch – auf der Kartbahn. „Ich bin froh im Kartsport, der klassischen Schule des Motorsports, aufgewachsen zu sein.“ Und das mit Erfolg. 2014 gewann das österreichische Motorsport Talent die 43. Trofeo delle Industrie im italienischen Lonato. Nach seiner aktiven Zeit im Kartsport wechselte der Österreicher 2016 in den Automobil Rennsport. Dort gab er 2016 und 2017 sein Debüt mit dem niederländischen Certainty Racing Team in dem Renault Clio Cup Central Europe und in der TCR Germany. 2018 präsentierte sich er mit dem renommierten YACO Racing Team im Cockpit eines Audi RS 3 LMS bei den ADAC TCR Germany. |
