Kirchberg bei Mattighofen/Upper Austria: Eastalent Racing announced today that none other than the two winners of the 2023 International GT Open, Simon Reicher from Austria and Audi Sport driver Christopher Haase from Germany, will be driving the team’s Audi R8 LMS evo II in the Dubai 24 Hour Race, taking place January 26–28. Eastalent Racing is focused on success: „After I asked Christopher if he would compete with us in the Dubai 24 Hour Race and he enthusiastically agreed, we immediately started planning for the event,“ explains team owner Peter Reicher.
Mike Zhou, the 2019 China GT GTC Champion, is the third driver to join the line-up. „We are delighted about the international interest in our team. With Mike’s experience, we are banking on a podium finish. The Chinese driver is one of the most experienced GT drivers. His CV includes the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and recent GT3 outings in this year’s Asian Le Mans Series,“ says Reicher.
Peter Reicher is particularly pleased about their fourth driver and second Audi Sport member Markus Winkelhock from Germany. „Word seems to have got around. Our team is not only focused on winning, but we also value the importance of a familiar environment among our members. Everyone who wears our team colors should feel comfortable and resonate with our passion for motorsports. So, it can happen that even highly decorated Audi Sport drivers are keen to get behind the wheel with us,” Peter Reicher proudly announces.
Eastalent Racing’s driver quartet for the Dubai 24 Hour Race is now finalized. Simon Reicher, Christopher Haase, Mike Zhou, and Markus Winkelhock will compete in the ProAm classification. „With such a high-caliber line-up, we have one major goal: a podium finish in the ProAm class. Of course, our machinery can’t let us down in those critical 24 hours. That’s a mammoth challenge paired with a healthy portion of luck. A lot can happen in 24 hours and each of us have experience with 24-hour races, but not yet as a team. We are all excited about the challenge ahead,“ summarizes Peter Reicher.

Der 24-jährige Simon Reicher ist im Motorsport kein Unbekannter. Seine Karriere begann im Alter von 8 Jahren. Klassisch – auf der Kartbahn. „Ich bin froh im Kartsport, der klassischen Schule des Motorsports, aufgewachsen zu sein.“ Und das mit Erfolg. 2014 gewann das österreichische Motorsport Talent die 43. Trofeo delle Industrie im italienischen Lonato. Nach seiner aktiven Zeit im Kartsport wechselte der Österreicher 2016 in den Automobil Rennsport. Dort gab er 2016 und 2017 sein Debüt mit dem niederländischen Certainty Racing Team in dem Renault Clio Cup Central Europe und in der TCR Germany. 2018 präsentierte sich er mit dem renommierten YACO Racing Team im Cockpit eines Audi RS 3 LMS bei den ADAC TCR Germany. |
