At yesterday evening’s (March 6, 2020) team presentation for the ADAC TOTAL 24 Hours Nürburgring, 20-year-old Austrian Simon Reicher was introduced to the stage as a bright young talent. Car Collection Motorsport presented their line-up for the 2020 season in the premises of their partner TECE. Joining the driver team are none other than Pierre Kaffer, Florian Spengler, and Elia Erhart. That seats Simon Reicher in a car shared with some of the best in motorsports. “I still can’t believe it. It’s an unbelievable opportunity to race a GT-3 car at the 24 Hours Nürburgring. My team colleagues’ careers are highly impressive, too. I’m honored by their trust in me. I must have done something particularly well,” he said visibly moved after the event. The deciding occasion is easily identified. During the 24-hour race in Barcelona last September, Simon Reicher joined Pierre Kaffer to finish fourth for Car Collection. “I got along with Pierre incredibly well. I was very impressed by how he mentored me, passing on his knowledge, always taking time for me, and effectively pushing me forward,” reports the civil engineering student.

The upcoming season has several highlights in store for Simon Reicher. Looking forward, he says: “I face several new challenges in 2020. I will learn a lot again and the 24-hour race in the Audi R8 GT-3 will certainly be the biggest highlight so far in my young career. I’ve dreamt of this since racing karts back in the day. In my opinion, 24-hour classics are among the greatest events an athlete can dream of.”

When asked about his further planning for the 2020 season, the sympathetic Austrian smiled: “I’m not leaking anything until next week – be prepared for some exciting news!”
