Schederndorf/Upper Franconia: This past Sunday, August 18, Peter Reicher’s team received a warm welcome in the community of Schederndorf. Following the invitation of the local brewery, Eastalent Racing presented their three Audi R8 LMS evo II cars. Among them was the victorious Audi from the 24 Hours of Dubai, the Audi from the GT World Challenge, and the newly designed Audi for the GT Open, which was unveiled for the first time. The drivers Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher also attended the event.

To ensure that even late risers wouldn’t miss the presentation, the team’s mechanics started the V10 engine of the GT3 race car in the town center promptly at 10 a.m. with a roaring wake-up call, replacing the usual church bells.

Peter Reicher commented: “We received a very warm welcome in Christopher Haase’s Franconian homeland. The connection leading up to this event happened by chance. A few months ago, we were guests here for the first time, and an idea was born. Today, we brought a crazy idea to life. That’s how we are at Eastalent Racing. When you see how much joy and interest the people here had, even in the rain, you know we did everything right. We were met with a wave of sympathy. Everyone was in a good mood, had fun, the food was fantastic, and, as expected, the beer was world-class. We made new friends with the Will family and their entire team. If everyone enjoyed it, we should do it again next year. For us, it was a great success.”

After the enthusiastic spectators had a chance to take a closer look at the two Audi R8 LMS evo II cars, and drivers Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher answered all the guests‘ questions, the team unveiled the new GT Open Audi in its new livery.

Team principal Peter Reicher remarked: “The development within our team is a continuous improvement process. The design shouldn’t lag behind. For the rest of the season, we will be competing in the international GT Open with a fresh design and look. And then there’s also the upcoming GT World Challenge race at Magny-Cours next weekend. It’s our sprint race test following the endurance test three weeks ago at the Nürburgring. After that, we will analyze both races and soon decide the next steps in our team’s future.”

The driver lineup for the GT World Challenge in Magny-Cours next weekend will be announced by the team in a few days. The race will take place from August 23 to 25 at Magny-Cours in France.
